Dettson Industries Inc. carries a recall of the Electronic Hydra Revolution electric boiler of 24 kW, 27kW and 29 kW due to fire hazard.
If the unit is improperly connected, a malfunction of the power board may cause a short-circuit, thus posing a fire hazard.
As of March 18, 2021, Dettson has received one report of fire causing damage in the immediate area of the boiler, and two reports, indicating no damage. Dettson has received no reports of injuries.
This voluntary recall is for the Dettson Hydra Revolution Electric Boiler, an electric hot water boiler used in homes.
Only the 24 kW, 27 kW and 29 kW models are affected by this recall.
The model number can be found on the nameplate on the right hand side of the unit. The following model numbers are affected by the recall:
HYDRAR24-E2401MA
HYDRAR24-E2401MB
HYDRAR27-E2401MA
HYDRAR29-E2401MA
Some 1,130 affected products were sold between July 2013 and November 2017
Consumers should immediately contact their Installer. The installer must remove the rating plate from the model being replaced, take a photo of the rating plate and send this to Dettson Industries by email to techs@dettson.ca.Based on a life expectancy of 20 years, the following table shows the compensation that will be allowed and sent directly to the consumer. The installer must contact Dettson Industries inc, Technical Support and supply the Consumer’s name and complete address.
